Real gases — CO₂ isotherms and the critical point (3D)
About this app
p–Vm–T state surface of CO₂ after van der Waals with coexistence region, critical point and ideal-gas comparison, next to a piston and cylinder in the particle picture. Isothermal compression shows condensation at constant vapour pressure below Tc and the supercritical fluid above it. The compression factor Z = pVm/(RT) quantifies the deviation from the ideal gas.
