Five tiles of equal edge length carry strap lines that cross every edge at its midpoint at 54° and therefore continue across every tile boundary. A decagon is constructed with compass and straightedge, tiles can be placed and hidden. A periodic pattern is compared with a Penrose subdivision that has tenfold symmetry without repetition.

A Japanese colour woodblock print after Hokusai's "Great Wave" is built up pass by pass: key block first, then a separate mirror-inverted block for each colour, inked, laid against the registration marks (kentō) and rubbed with the baren. Layers can be switched off one by one, the registration marks removed and the stack of blocks and colour layers opened. The picture only exists in the stack; each block carries a single colour.

A park painting made of tens of thousands of pure colour dots in the spirit of Seurat's Grande Jatte. As the distance grows, the dots merge once each appears at less than about one arcminute. A comparison field shows that blue next to yellow turns light grey from afar, while mixed on the palette it turns green. Your own photos can be pointillised locally.

Alberti's window in 3D: sight lines from the eye point pierce a glass pane and draw a Renaissance hall line by line as a perspective image. Eye height, sideways position and the distance of the picture plane are adjustable; a rotatable cube shows two vanishing points. Finally the camera moves into the eye point: image and space match exactly, then only the flat panel remains.
