Kinesin on the microtubule (3D)
About this app
A motor protein goes for a walk: kinesin-1 walks hand over hand along a microtubule of α/β-tubulin to the plus end, 8 nm and one ATP per step, pulling a vesicle behind it. Set ATP concentration, opposing force and slow motion, count steps, distance and ATP, watch it stall at about 6.5 pN; dynein walks the other way for comparison. Exhibit-ready.
