A neuron from the dendrites to the synapse: EPSPs sum at the axon hillock, above threshold an action potential arises and jumps from node to node at full strength. Loupes show Na⁺/K⁺ channels with inactivation and the Na⁺/K⁺ pump at a node of Ranvier, and Ca²⁺ influx, vesicle fusion and receptors at the synapse. Eight scrubbable phases with a potential trace, a subthreshold stimulus and myelin on/off for comparison.
